Colin Broadbent is a service delivery manager with over 15 years of experience. He has had an interesting professional life, working as a Jackeroo in the Snowy Mountains, on the Forestry and in the Australian Protective Service as a member of a Dog Squad and as a Bomb Appraisal officer. He then found his way into a Melbourne University working in a team of Information Technology client services officers. Colin came to Hobart in 2003 to take up a senior role at the University with his wife and two children; shortly thereafter one of his children was diagnosed with multiple disabilities. He was hit with the double whammy of being new to Hobart and new to the disability roller coaster with little or no guidance or easily accessible information. As a result he has become passionate about empowering others who find themselves getting a ticket for the ride, through the delivery of advocacy, information and education services.
