Kate Polglase – Board Member

After 20 years in the public and private sectors, Kate now runs her own business, Wicked Solutions Consulting.

Kate has a combined science and law degree with Honours in geology and holds qualifications to work as an investigator. She has worked for Aboriginal organisations in the Northern Territory in land rights, family and sexual violence and civil matters. On returning to Tasmania, Kate worked in policy, legal and project management roles including 11 years in environmental regulations with the Environmental Protection Authority.

Kate holds qualifications as a multi-sensory structured language practitioner; an evidence-based approach to teaching reading and spelling. She has a particular interest in supporting children with speech/ sound disorders. She is passionate about improving Tasmania’s literacy level and volunteers in schools working with individual students.

Kate enjoys travelling with her family, cooking and trying to improve her surfing.
