Mark Krause – Peer Connector

Mark Krause is a dedicated community advocate, known for his deep commitment to social inclusion and historical preservation. With extensive experience as a Support Coordinator, Teacher and Support Professional, Mark has worked alongside individuals navigating disability and mental health services, informing and assisting to build meaningful connections and access the support that matches a person’s needs.


He was a driving force behind the Willow Court Tasmania History Group and the Willow Court Advocacy Group, where he has led efforts to preserve and share the stories of one of Australia’s oldest mental health institutions. Through public tours, education, and advocacy, Mark has helped bring national and international attention to Willow Court’s legacy, culminating in its recognition as a Site of Conscience by the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience.


Mark is a citizen advocate and sat on the Board of Management with a person living with disability to assist them in managing their own support organisation.


Mark has been connected with ACD Tas for many years, gaining valuable support for the family during school years. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time listening to music, walking in nature and enjoying the company of his family.
